5 Top Tips For Website Success

You’re website is all set up and looking pretty...

But no one’s been to visit?!

That Sucks!

So, you ask...

"What are the best 5 methods of driving 'hungry' customers to my website without having to pay Google the earth for PPC (pay for click) advertising?”

Well I think we can help you out.

So, what I'm going to do is give you the low-down on five quick and simple things that you can do to generate FREE traffic before the kids are tucked up in bed tonight.

Each of these will help drive targetted traffic to your website, and we all know what more traffic means...(Er that's more customers Bob)

Sound good? Great. Let’s do it...

5 Top "Must Do's" For Website Success

So, Let’s fire off right at the very top – the title of your page.

The page title, in case you were unsure, is the wording that shows in the bar at the top of the window.

Like when you visit for say Facebook to log-in, it says Facebook/login, and when you open your webpage it wil say something too.

But what it says is very important because Google uses that title when generating search results.

You’ll see on this site it says "Blogger: Redbat75's "No B.S" Ways To Make Money & Be Happy", and if anything your title should be even more specific.

What’s vitally important is that the title of the page is relevant to the content. This is a must.

So, if with your site this isn't the case... first thing on your "To Do" list should be to alter the page title to make it relevant to the contents of your website, ok.

No.2...

Do you like pictures?

You probably do. And don’t they make a website look pretty?

Trouble is, if your website is all piccys and clever logos, Google’s search engine won’t realise there’s something good there – it works on words you see.

So, say you had a pet shop website and had to click on a Guinea Pigs’s face to get to the Guinea Pig page.

All Google would see is a picture of a Guinea Pig. As far as they’re concerned it's pointless. And holy moly, you’ve lost an opportunity to pitch in a keyword (I'll get to those in a minute).

To deal with this, at the bottom of your site you really should include some text navigation links.

Again, look at other good websites...go to the bottom you’ll see a bundle of plain text links.

Not only do these help Google to search for the site, these links also give your customers a clear opportunity to click on something relevant.

So, whilst you don’t have to give up all your clickable Gunea Pigs, do make sure you have text links at the bottom.

Earlier, I mentioned keywords.

Now you’re probably already clued in on what they are, but simply, they’re all the words that relate directly to your business.

So, say you run an online carpet store. Your keywords will be things like living room, rugs, carpets, floor coverings, etc.

You should make sure you’ve got dozens of relevant key words all over your website, on every single page.

However!!! You shouldn't sacrifice the readability of the content just to have loads of key words on your website. Google will suss you out.

If you find it hard to think which key words you should have in your site, great news..!

There’s a free tool that tells you which words to use.

Woohoo!!!

Check out Google’s very own key word generator.

Ok, so we’ve got three things for you to do to help improve the ‘searchability’ of your website and get more targeted free traffic to it.

Now I said 5 things didn't I..?

Yes I did and we’ll check out the remaining two in the next post!

And we’ve already got three things to do her that are going to help big time.

Fact is, there's a danger of overloading you with things to do so that you don’t actually end up doing anything - not good, remember action is everything

So, As soon as you get home from work, or at the very latest before you hit the hay tonight...

Get on to this and put the three simple steps I’ve given you today into action.

Then you'll be able to continue on the next post and increase the traffic to your website even more.

So once more, remember...

1) Make your page title relevant to the content...

2) Put plain text/navigation links at the bottom of your page...

3) Use the FREE tool I showed you, find out what your keywords are and naturally work them into the content on every page of your website.

Best Regards,
